Music Teachers Team Up To Feed Hungry Children
Sunday, May 29th, 2011Connect to a charity rewarding. Largest Concert (WLC) is a musical performance in March, to celebrate music in our schools month. This year, the event organizer, MenC: The National Association for Music Education, working with Feed The Children (FTC), an international nonprofit that provides emergency food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to children and families who lack these most due to hunger, poverty has been, or natural disaster.
Before children can learn music, they must have the most basic necessities of life such as food, drinking water and healthcare. Therefore MenC worked to raise $ 1.2 million to support the important work FTC.
The WLC is a concert of Sing-Along in which students around the world through music. It is estimated six million students, teachers, and supporters of music each year, artists or audience members. With support from the PAX Network, PBS stations, educational networks, and American forces radio and television network, the program is broadcast throughout the United States and abroad, the second Thursday of March. This year’s concert will be held March 9 at 13:00 Eastern time.
As part of the concert program, MenC and FTC are working together to help children around the country by providing food for those in need, and supporting the involvement of children in music. One hundred percent of all donations go directly to MenC by the FTC. With only $ 8, can feed a hungry child for a whole month FTC. 140 million to £ 1,000 food supply.
FTC is organizing relief efforts in third place in the United States, relies on private support, and is rated four stars by Charity Navigator, the largest charity evaluator in the country. In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, the FTC has delivered more than 600 trucks carrying food, water and other relief supplies to people in affected areas.
